Tim Krohn

Director of Music Ministries

Tim Krohn holds a Bachelor's degree in trumpet performance from the U of M to which he has returned in order to pursue a master's degree in conducting under the tutelage of Michael Haithcock, Director of Bands.

Tim is Director of Music Ministries at Lord of Light and the musical director for the Arbor Brass Choir. He also freelances in the metro Detroit area and has appeared at festivals including: Bar Harbor Brass Week (ME), Lewisburg's Music in the Park (PA) and the Lexington Bach Festival (MI). Tim can be heard on recordings with the U of M Symphony Band, Sounds, Shapes, and Symbols, as well as the U of M Symphony Orchestra's Grammy award winning recording of William Bolcom 's Songs of Innocence and Experience.

A student of Marianne Ploger, Tim is committed to music education and the study of musical perception. He teaches privately in the Ann Arbor area, has served on the faculty of the Michigan All-State program at Interlochen Center for the Arts and has taught trumpet at the Rudolph Steiner High School in Ann Arbor as well as in the Farmington and Tecumseh school districts. Recently, Tim produced, arranged music for, and performed on a two-disc album featuring Dan Puccio's Jazz Mass and music of the worshiping community at Lord of Light.

From 2004 - 2007, Tim also served as Campus Ministry Coordinator for LOL/LCM. He looks forward to sharing his musical gifts with the community throughout his master's degree program as he continues to serve as Director of Music Ministries at LOL.
