Membership in Lord of Light Lutheran Church is open to all baptized Christians. During the year, orientation sessions are scheduled for those interested in establishing Lord of Light as their church home in Ann Arbor. Sessions are tailored for the needs of the participants. If you are looking for a church home - for a semester or a lifetime - we invite you to consider settling down at Lord of Light.
- Regular members hold their primary membership at Lord of Light Lutheran Church, where they are expected to be faithful in worship, study, prayer, fellowship and stewardship. Regular members are eligible to vote at congregational meetings and to serve as members/officers of the Church Council and to represent the congregation as voting members of the Southeast Michigan Synod Assembly.
- Associate Members enjoy all of the privileges and responsibilities of membership at LOL while retaining their primary membership in another congregation. Students often find Associate Membership as a good means of becoming actively involved at LOL, while in residence in the Ann Arbor area.
Baptism
As a community that relies upon the grace of God to act in Holy Baptism, we baptize people of all ages. At Lord of Light, preparation for the Sacrament of Holy Baptism takes place on an individual basis and may include parents, godparents/sponsors, family members and friends as well as the candidate for Holy Baptism.
