Lutheran Campus Ministry
Celebrate
Reformation
Since we're Lutheran Campus Ministry, we trace our theological and cultural proclivities back to Martin Luther and the continental Reformation. Every year, we celebrate the Festival of the Reformation at worship and beyond.
You can expect worship to include a rousing rendition of A Mighty Fortress is Our God (sometimes accompanied by the bottle choir, sometimes by djembes!) and Reformation fun following. Our 2006 Reformation Homecoming included:
- Reformation red (the liturgical color for the day) food
- Crowning of the Reformation Homecoming king and queen (Martin and Katie Luther, of course!)
- The Diet of (Gummy) Worms
- Baptismal Apple Bobbing
- Pin the Theses on the Door
- Destruction of the Papal (pinata) Bull
- And a Reformation trivia contest
In 2007, we sponsored Ken Medema: A Concert for Christian Unity which brought together folks of various traditions from all over the area to celebrate the Christ in whom we are truly one.
What will 2008 hold? Come and find out! (Last Sunday in October)
Worship: Sunday at 11 AM (Sept.-May) | 10 AM (June - Aug)
